Case Study: Yozen

Yozen is a thriving frozen yogurt franchise with a presence in both Greece and Cyprus.

As a brand designer, I had the exciting opportunity to conceptualise and execute the entire brand identity for Yozen, including

its name, logo, tagline, menu, cards, stickers, shop graphics, labels, packaging, social media design, franchise presentation and website.

This case study explores the creative process, challenges faced, and the successful outcomes achieved

in creating a strong and memorable brand for Yozen from the ground up.

The Challenge

Launching a new brand in the competitive frozen yogurt market required a fresh and distinctive identity that could capture the essence of Yozen's excellent product while resonating with customers and setting the franchise apart from its competitors.

The Solution

1. Brand Name & Logo Design

I began by brainstorming and created the name 'Yozen,' blending 'yogurt' and 'frozen' to create a unique and catchy brand name.

The logo design incorporated playful, swirling shapes resembling yogurt swirls and modern fonts to embody the brand's personality. A vibrant and inviting colour palette was chosen to emphasise freshness and fun.

2. Menu Design

To create an enticing and user-friendly menu, I designed a clean and easily readable layout featuring simple images of yogurt flavours and toppings. Icons and colour coding simplified menu choices, ensuring a seamless ordering experience for customers.

3. Shop Graphics

Shop graphics were carefully crafted to convey Yozen's welcoming and playful ambiance. This approach created an inviting atmosphere that encouraged walk-ins and repeat visits.

4. Packaging Design

Packaging played a pivotal role in Yozen's brand image. I designed unique packaging for yogurt cups, featuring the logo and reinforcing the brand's identity. The packaging served its functional purpose and became a marketing tool, as customers often shared their Yozen experiences on social media.

5. Franchise Presentation

To effectively communicate the Yozen brand identity and business model to potential franchisees, I created a comprehensive franchise presentation. This presentation encompassed compelling visuals, brand messaging, financial projections, and growth opportunities, showcasing Yozen as an attractive and lucrative investment. It served as a persuasive tool to attract potential franchise partners and expand the brand's presence.

As a result of the franchise presentation, Yozen successfully expanded its presence by opening eight new shops in Greece and Cyprus.

The Results

The creation of Yozen's brand identity led to remarkable outcomes, including:

• A successful brand launch with a strong and memorable identity.

• Rapid customer recognition and positive feedback on the fresh and appealing brand.

• Increased foot traffic and customer engagement within the first few months.

• Expansion plans to open new Yozen locations in neighboring regions, demonstrating the brand's immediate market appeal.

Conclusion

The journey of creating Yozen's brand identity was a rewarding project.

By strategically creating the name and tagline, designing the logo, menu, cards, stickers, shop graphics, labels, packaging, franchise presentation and their social media and website, Yozen emerged as a beloved frozen yogurt franchise with a unique and captivating brand identity.

This case study highlights my expertise as a brand designer, showcasing my ability to create a compelling brand identity that resonates with customers and drives business success from inception by using the power of simplicity and timeless design. All these aspects underscore the significant impact of my work on Yozen's growth and development.

Throughout the project, the client's trust was integral to the successful execution of the brand design. They not only listened attentively to my design concepts but also approved and embraced them, ultimately contributing to the brand's success.
